CB103 PC Blade server offers many advantages over the traditional 1U ATX design. Better thermal management and 20% space saving are some of the key advantages.

CAPACITY The maximun capacity of PC Blade systems you can installed in to the ColoBlade™ PC Blade 8U housing is 10. Each PC Blade server has its own power supply, processor, memory and hard disk drives. ColoBlade PC Blade does not require a data bus backplane. In addition, each PC Blade servers can have different type of system configuration. You have the option to configure the PC Blade servers the way you like.

THERMAL Thermal is not an issue with ColoBlade™ PC Blade servers. The maximun thermal limit for most of the traditional 1U servers is up to 3.0 Ghz processor. Any speed beyond 3.0 Ghz will result in a overheat situation. The ColoBlade PC Blade server uses a wind tunnel design concept to overcome these thermal issues. As you can see from the air flow diagram on the left, cooler air is moving in from multiple air intake area on the PC Blade housing. Six oversized 120mm exhaust fans at rear are moving heated air out. As result, you will not have to worry about over heat related issues such as throttling down processor performance, unexpected memory error and unexpected power supply reboot.

SPACE SAVING ColoBlade PC Blade servers can save you up to 20% in rack space cost. In a 8U space, you can have up to 10 PC Blade servers running at the same time. This drematically reduces the amount of space you need for new users.

CABINET COMPATIBILITY There are many different sizes of open frame racks and rackmount cabinets ranging from 13U to 47U in size to choose from. CB103 PC Blade Servers are designed to work with any rackmount cabinets comply with the EIA-310-D standard. You can use either square nuts or tap-hole screws for installation (cabinet screws are not included). CB103 comes with a 8U front mount L brackets. It can be used as a center mount bracet also. Additional rear mount brackets is not needed but is available as an optional item.

Caution! The 8U blade housing is very heavy. It requires at lease two people for installation. Remove all blade systems from the housing before installation.
